Site History

This site, rcrg.info, orignally was formed as "Rochester Citizens for Responsible Growth". This name was taken from the neighborhood group that formed to oppose a radical infill development in the Willow Heights area of Rochester, Minnesota. Here is a copy of the main page from that prior site: http://rcrg.info/rcrg.htm

DTV Transition Coalition

The DTV Transition Coalition includes some heavy-hitters in the broadcast and consumer electronics industries. The coalition's founding members include:
  • Association for Maximum Service Television (MSTV)
  • Association of Public Television Stations (APTS))
  • Consumer Electronics Association (CEA))
  • Consumer Electronics Retailers Coalition (CERC)
  • Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR)
  • LG Electronics
  • National Association of Broadcasters (NAB)
  • National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA)
The coalition set up a PR myspace page on Friday, September 28, 2007. Now, one month from the original analog cutoff date of February 19, 2009, they appear to have only attracted 2 myspace friends--one of which is Tom, the other yours truly.

Switchover Scenarios: Tracking The DTV Transition: Voices In Opposition

Bob Colby has done a great job tracking the DTV Transition in his blog over the last few years. In his latest post, he mentions a web page hosted here (originally at stopsnow.rcrg.info) as an early voice of concern about the poor and elderly possibly being left behind:
